Well, my immediate thoughts about this are that it’s probably never going to happen. If they are this interested in the franchise, chances are that they will be exploring a lot of potential plot concepts in the coming years, which begs the following question: Is it possible that we could see a TMNT/Ghostbusters movie?

Heck, they just recently announced plans for an animated Ghostbusters movie in addition to the new re-imagining that will be coming out this summer. Sony Pictures has devoted a lot of time and energy to bringing this property back from the dead (no pun intended), so they probably aren’t going to give up on this revival anytime soon. Because sometimes, your trip ends before the in-flight movie does, and you really don’t want to ask the pilot to circle the airport just so you can catch the finale. With the recent release of the first US and International trailer for the new Ghostbusters movie, many fans are beginning to wonder where that franchise is headed.Because sometimes, you fall asleep watching a mediocre rental, and would rather return it on time than pay two more bucks just to see the end.Because sometimes, your TiVo timer didn’t get it quite right, and cut off the crucial final minutes of something that won’t get shown again for six months.Because sometimes, you’re not interested in seeing that movie everyone’s talking about but are dying to know what the hubbub is about anyway.Because sometimes, you vaguely remember an old movie that had some sort of plot twist at the end of it, but can’t remember what it was.Because sometimes, the surprise “spoiler” ending is the only reason you’d pay $11 to see what is otherwise a turkey of a film. All damage done by the ghosts is reversed, and the previously destroyed hotel is restored to good as new. Rowan tries to drag Abby down with him, but she is saved by Erin. The ghostbusters aim their positron gliders at the accelerators, and cause the portal to suck in all supernatural forms. As luck would have it, Slimer comes around the bend barreling down at the hotel. Unable to contain him, Jillian comes up with the idea that the nuclear accelerators on the ECTO-1’s roof could reverse the flow of the portal if they are caused to melt down. Rowan leaves Kevin’s body and takes the form of the ghost from the GB logo, but inflates himself to a monstrous size. As Erin joins the team to combat the threat, Slimer quickly steals their car, the ECTO-1, with a girl Slimer and some random spooks in the back.Īfter busting (as in destroying) several ghosts, the ghostbusters once again confront Rowan (as Kevin). Kevin returns to Rowan’s lair and reactivates his summoning device, which releases hundreds of ghosts and opens a portal to the netherworld. At that point, Kevin pulls up on a motorcycle and is quickly possessed by Rowan, who chooses to use Kevin’s body to enact his grand scheme – releasing ghosts all over Manhattan. He first possesses Abby, and tries to use her to kill Jillian, but Patty stops her. When confronted by the ghostbusters in his lair beneath the hotel, Rowan electrocutes himself, freeing his spirit to possess mortal beings.
